Goat Willow Pottery
Venue 16 - Village Hall Marquee
After teaching pottery to adults with learning disabilities for 24 years, I opened a social enterprise pottery in Tweedbank. I teach inclusive classes and workshops, bringing the elements of the making, decorating and problem solving skills I gained while working at Garvald Edinburgh to the sessions.
Opening the pottery has allowed me, for the first time, to develop and work on my own pottery. Every day I am grateful for this opportunity to have the space and a bit of time to find out where everything I have learned and experienced over the last 25 years will take me.
Growing up by the Moray Firth has given me a strong connection with the colour, textures and energy of that coastline. I have found this connection weaving its way into my pottery.
