Caroline Earl

I work with silk fabrics that I have hand-dyed or painted. Some pieces have further decoration using devore to etch into the velvet pile. Others are felted with merino wool fibres, silk and soft fibres.

My pictures are inspired by the local landscapes of the Borders. I use acrylic and mixed media to allow me to bring texture to each painting. I have been an artist and textile teacher for 30 years and have exhibited in shops and galleries throughout the country. I have been a guest artist at the Crafters shop in Melrose, with a further booking for December.
