Kirstin Johnston is an illustrator paper artist who lives and works in the small village of Gordon in the Scottish Borders. She recently passed her combined studies art degree at Edinburgh college of art with a distinction. Whilst studying at ECA she contracted the deadly paper-itus. It is highly contagious and causes the sufferer to fiddle about endlessly with paper. Kirstin has learnt to control this disease by taking her illustrative skills and combining them with her love of narrative work to create art. All hand cut with a scalpel and intricately placed together sometimes using light and shadow as part of the composition.
It really is a complete obsession and does take a very long time.
